Passing the FAA's Part 107 Knowledge Test for Commercial Drone Pilots

To obtain a Part 107 certification, which is required to operate a drone commercially in the United States, you must pass a knowledge test administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The test is available online through the FAA's Testing and Certification System.

To take the test online, you must first create an account on the FAA's Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA) website. Once you have an account, you can schedule an appointment to take the test at an approved testing center. The test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions and you must score at least 70% to pass.

It's a good idea to study and prepare for the test before you take it. The FAA offers a free online study guide and a list of resources to help you prepare for the test. You can also purchase study materials or take a training course from a third-party provider.

Once you pass the test, you will receive a temporary Part 107 certificate, which is valid for 120 days. The FAA will review your application and, if everything is in order, you will receive a permanent certificate. You must renew your Part 107 certification every two years.
